The region

Nature

The landscapes, flora and fauna... Let nature inspire you like the famous British painter David Hockney, who settled in the Pays d'Auge in 2019, where he painted his 80 m long frieze "A Year in Normandie".

Towns and villages

Discover the charms of Caen, Deauville and Cabourg, the village of Beuvron-en-Auge (listed among the prettiest villages in France) and the tiny hamlet of Camembert.

Why not spend a day in Bayeux, visiting the world-famous tapestry in the morning and doing some shopping in the afternoon, or perhaps a farmers' market, to pick up things for a picnic on the beach?

The coast

The Normandy coast offers both history and relaxation. Which will you choose?

The D-day beaches are not far away and are one of the must-see places in Normandy. From Arromanches-les-Bains with the remains of the artificial harbour, to the British Normandy Memorial overlooking Sword Beach, you cannot not be moved by the events of 1944.

Castles

Discover the history of the region via the numerous castles and stately homes. From the magnificent gardens of the château de Canon to the collection of historical globes and atlases at the château de Médavy, from the bedroom at the château de Sassy where Queen Elizabeth II stayed, to the Schlumberger Foundation Museum housed in the 12th-15th century surroundings of the château de Crèvecoeur, there's something for all tastes.

You cannot miss the Haras National du Pin, the royal stud farm and stables established by King Louis XIV and still at the centre of equestrian life in France today.
